This was the satirical news letter that I read.

" WASHINGTON—Clapping with delight while attempting to catch the thin, floating film of cleaning liquid, President Joe Biden chased a soap bubble across the nation Thursday, Beltway sources confirmed. “Come back, Mr. Bubble!” said the commander in chief, who reportedly gave chase to the bubble after spotting it emerging from the White House kitchen, drawing the curious president onto the West Lawn and down Pennsylvania Avenue as he avoided several near-misses with cars and 16-wheelers, finally embarking on the 1,656-mile cross-country journey that brought him to the Great Plains where he giggled with visible joy as a gust took the bubble in the direction of Yellowstone National Park. “You’re being so silly—even sillier than when you landed on that goose’s head and almost let me catch you. But that’s why I love you so much. You’re my sweetest little friend!” At press time, Biden had reportedly drowned after following the bubble directly into the Pacific Ocean."

Be honest with me, do you really think Biden is a real person???? Let’s be honest there has been countless moments where sleepy joe has not sentient. One moment he will be talking about politics or greeting people, then he will suddenly be talking about his favorite flavor of ice cream; or better yet he will say something like “The best way to get something done, if you… if you um …. hold it near and dear to you that you uhhh … like to be able ……….. to anyway”. The satirical newsletter that I read does a pretty good job in portraying Biden in a satirical way. The author seems to love making fun of Biden as the entire news letter seems to be making fun of him through the use of parodies. We start of the piece with the formal tone similar to traditional news reports, that says “Thursday, Beltway sources confirmed” that Biden “gave chase” to a bubble that floated out of the white house kitchen. So, the authors acts sophisticated at first but then turns humorous shortly after, (sort of like Bien in real life). The authors says that Biden chased that the bubble onto the road with “several near-misses with cars and 16-wheelers” where he “finally embarking on the 1,656-mile cross-country journey” utilizing humor with a hyperbole to build satire to the piece. Effectively conveying Biden as this like 81-year-old child who has the attention span of a gerbil. However the quotes make this piece really humors, Biden says “You’re being so silly—even sillier than when you landed on that goose’s head and almost let me catch you. But that’s why I love you so much. You’re my sweetest little friend!”. These quotes help attribute to Biden to this satire by painting him as a leader whose actions do not match up his position as the President.

  1. I find this a very fun piece to read and definitely agree in some aspects. Overall I think it's hilarious witnessing Biden's various actions, perhaps not as a president, but I don't believe I'm in that position to judge either as I haven't gone through that vigorous presidential process.

  2. I think this is a very funny satirical piece because of the humor involved. You analyzed it properly as you said the humor is used to mock Biden as “a leader whose actions do not match up his position as the President.” The author of this piece clearly has strong negative feelings toward Biden.

Your blog was really humorous to read and I loved some of the comparisons you made such as Biden to a gerbil.
